    "Chintalaya" is the ancient Sanskrit word meaning "place for thoughts" and this chalet has been refurbished resulting in a contemporary yet homely feel making for a relaxed stay.

    Chintalaya sleeps up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms, all of which are ensuite and all of which are flexible, so can be prepared as double or twin beds. There is additional sofa bed sleeping for 2 people in the separate TV room. The ground floor has 2 of the bedrooms, a heated boot room, a boiler room with washing machine and the separate TV room with two double sofa beds (each for individual occupancy) and Wifi internet access. There is a separate WC on this level but bathroom facilities for guests staying in the TV room would be shared with the bedrooms on the same floor. There is a large dining room with a table for 12, a log burner and a sofa. Doors open onto the deck and garden area complete with outside furniture. The kitchen is off the dining room and is modern and well-equipped.

    On the first floor, there are 3 ensuite bedrooms and a comfortable lounge with wood burning stove, a large Plasma TV with Bose sound system and UK Satellite TV. Doors open onto a dual aspect balcony which looks over the River l'Arve which runs right through the centre of Chamonix.

    There is parking for 2 to 3 cars and although transport is handy to get to the slopes, Chintalaya is right in town so has many facilities on the doorstep. There aren't many chalets of this size in such central locations and with the bonus of sitting beside the river, Chintalaya is fairly unique.

    The ground floor has 3 of the bedrooms, a heated boot room, a boiler room with washing machine and a TV room with a sofabed. There is a large dining room. Doors open onto the deck and garden where there is outside furniture. The kitchen is off the dining room and is modern and well-equipped.




    Upper floor
    On the first floor, there is a comfortable lounge. Doors open onto a dual aspect balcony. There are 2 ensuite bedrooms all of which are flexible, so can be prepared as double or twin beds.
    Chalet Chintalaya is superbly located, right in the centre of town, in a quiet spot by the junction of Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi and the River l'Arve. The main shopping street, Rue Paccard, is no more than 150 metres from the chalet. There are a choice of supermarkets and bakeries within a very short walk, the nearest supermarket being the new Casino on Avenue Ravanel le Rouge, 200 metres away. All the restaurants and bars of Chamonix centre are similarly close by. For access to the slopes, the main bus stop is 400 metres away, through the square of Chamonix Sud. The nearest ski area is Brévent, 2 minutes by bus or car, just to the north of the town centre. The famous Aiguille dui Midi cable car, for access to the Vallée Blanche, is just 200 metres away. It doesn't get much more convenient than this!
