This is Mountain Base’s most central chalet property, situated just a three minute walk from the high street and 400 metres from the main bus stop with services to all the lift stations. Chalet Chintalaya has been stylishly decorated and is particularly generous when it come to living space. It includes a separate kitchen, dining room, sitting room and TV room.

Bedrooms

The chalet sleeps up to 12 people in 5 bedrooms and on a double sofa bed in the TV room. There are a maximum of 11 separate beds available, configured as follows:

  • Bedroom 1: Flexible twin or double room (ground floor) with en-suite shower room with WC
  • Bedroom 2: Flexible twin or double room (ground floor) with en-suite shower room with WC
  • Bedroom 3: Flexible twin or double room (first floor) with en-suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and WC
  • Bedroom 4: Flexible twin or double room (first floor) with en-suite shower room with WC
  • Bedroom 5: Flexible twin or double room (first floor) with en-suite shower room with WC
  • TV Room: Two sofa beds each for individual occupancy (ground floor)

Our Opinion

Other than its fabulous, central, riverside location, the great thing about Chalet Chintalaya is that it offers several separate living spaces. Therefore, guests can be watching a film in the TV room, relaxing on the sofas upstairs, enjoying lively after dinner debates in the dining room or cooking in the kitchen without disturbing one another. Chalet Chintalaya also offers completely flexible accommodation as all the bedrooms can be made up as either doubles or twins.

Location

Chalet Chintalaya is superbly located, right in the centre of town, in a quiet spot by the junction of Avenue de l'Aiguille du Midi and the River l'Arve. The main shopping street, Rue Paccard, is no more than 150 metres from the chalet. There are a choice of supermarkets and bakeries within a very short walk, the nearest supermarket being the new Casino on Avenue Ravanel le Rouge, 200 metres away. All the restaurants and bars of Chamonix centre are similarly close by. For access to the slopes, the main bus stop is 400 metres away, through the square of Chamonix Sud. The nearest ski area is Brévent, 2 minutes by bus or car, just to the north of the town centre. The famous Aiguille dui Midi cable car, for access to the Vallée Blanche, is just 200 metres away. It doesn't get much more convenient than this!

There is also a large dining room with log fireplace and doors onto the deck and garden where there is outside furniture. The modern kitchen is off the dining room and is fully-equipped. Upper floor On the first floor, there is a comfortable lounge with log-burning stove. Doors open onto a dual aspect balcony. There are 3 en-suite bedrooms all of which are flexible, so can be prepared as double or twin beds.
