About Les Carroz
The resort of Les Carroz is located in the heart of the Grand Massif, a traditionnal Savoyard village made of stone and wood, surrounded by prestigious Alpine peaks and breathtaking views. Perched at an altitude of 1,140 m on a sunny plateau, it's the perfect destination for mountain lovers and family holidays.
Located between Lake Geneva and the Mont-Blanc massif, Les Carroz is the quickest gateway to the Grand Massif, just 20 minutes from the motorway, 10 minutes from the Cluses TGV station and 40 km from Geneva. Connected to the 4th largest ski area in France (Le Grand Massif), this charming destination will delight young and old alike on and off the slopes.
A stronghold of alpine skiing for more than 70 years, Les Carroz welcomed the very first 1,600 m long drag lift in 1939, establishing this resort as the first French ski resort. Since 1982 Les Carroz has been linked to 4 other resorts, Flaine, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt Fer à Cheval to form the fabulous Grand Massif area offering 265 km of slopes.
With 142 slopes including 13 blacks, 47 reds, 60 blues and 22 greens, the Grand Massif is a truly family-friendly resort. Holidays in Les Carroz are focussed on skiing but there are other activities on offer: tobogganing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, ice skating, as well as fire shows, welcome drinks, concerts, shows and lots more.
In the summer, the mountains are your playground with climbing, via ferrata, hiking, caving, mountain biking, horse riding, canirando and hiking with a donkey all on offer.
