Equipment rental in Chamonix

Ski and snowboard rental

We work with a number of ski and snowboard suppliers in Chamonix, so no matter where you are staying, there is a rental shop nearby. You can book online and collect directly from the shop or, if you are staying in a chalet, there are two shops that can deliver to your door. By booking in advance online, you can also save up to 50% on the rental price. Most shops have online booking systems that are open all year round. You can also pick up a voucher when you arrive and take it to the shop to get a discount.
 
Local CHX - Loyer chez Local CHX (30% off)
Local Chx is a ski and snowboard shop based in Chamonix Sud, open from 8am to 8pm, non-stop, every day. You can either collect your equipment from the shop or have it delivered to your chalet at a pre-arranged time. Better still, they offer a 30% discount to all Mountain Base customers. When choosing your ski equipment online, make sure to select "Mountain Base" from the list of tour operators when you check out to receive the discount.

Sanglard - Rent via Sanglard (15-40% off)
Sanglard Sports is like an institution in Chamonix, with a rich history dating back to 1924. As a result, they pride themselves on providing you with the best models from each manufacturer and maintaining their equipment well. They have two shops, one in the centre of Chamonix with parking and the other at the foot of the Grands Montets slopes, which offers heated and secure lockers for rent that can store up to 4 pairs of skis and boots. Cham'Sports - Rent via Cham'Sport (30-50% off)
Bertrand and Pierre from Cham’Sports have four ski hire shops in the centre of Chamonix, with an impressive range of skis and snowboards from well-known brands. If you have a car, their shop in Chamonix Centre (Place du Poilu) has (free) parking directly in front of the shop.

O'Shop - Rent via O'Shop (20-50% off)

Open 7 days a week, O'SHOP offers a great selection of ski and snowboard equipment from all the major brands. Their friendly team will be happy to advise you on what type of equipment you need, what their favourite slopes are and where to find the best snow.


Practical extras such as cancellation insurance, delivery service and off-piste equipment rental make them a great choice for ski and snowboard rental. They also offer a wide range of accessories such as gloves, hats and ski goggles. In addition, they rent ski clothing and avalanche safety equipment.

You can also place your order online, go in the shop for fitting and have the equipment delivered to your home (valid for orders of more than 4 sets).

Bike Hire

In Chamonix there are a few shops that rent mountain bikes, where you will find kids bikes, downhill bikes, enduro bikes, city bikes, road bikes and electric mountain bikes. There is a wide variety of trails in Chamonix and a bike for every level of difficulty or experience.


Sanglard Chamonix


Sanglard rents electric mountain bikes for kids and adults in different sizes. Discover the mountain bike trails in the Chamonix valley with the ease of a battery-assisted mountain bike. A battery lasts all day and you can choose to rent a helmet with the bike or bring your own. The bike lock, repair kit and backpack are included in the price. Rent an electric mountain bike.

Legend'CHX


Located near the Aiguille du Midi cable car, this shop rents downhill, enduro, cross-country, road, fatbikes and children's bikes. The shop also stocks accessories, clothing and spare parts, as well as guides who can show you a number of the local trails.

Slash Chamonix


This small rental shop with its repair shop is located not far from the Savoy piste, a short walk from the centre of Chamonix. It is run by a team of passionate mountain bikers who know the trails and roads of Chamonix perfectly. They rent road bikes, mountain bikes, electric bikes, models adapted for children and women or simply bikes to get around town.

Intersport Chamonix


Intersport has two stores in Chamonix for bike rental. Located just a few minutes from the sports center, Intersport Nord offers a wide range of downhill, cross-country, electric and children's bikes. The other, larger store, located in the center of Chamonix, offers a large selection of bikes for rental and a large clothing and accessories store.

Mountaineering and climbing equipment rental

Alpine adventures require the right equipment, often too heavy to carry from home.


Snell Sports


This shop has been open since 1934 and is something of an institution in Chamonix. They stock a huge range of equipment and clothing for most mountain sports and activities. You can also hire a huge range of equipment for summer or winter and even pushchairs (!). They can also service and repair your equipment.


Summer: mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, harnesses, helmets, hiking shoes, backpacks, telescopic poles, climbing shoes, crash pads, slacklines, the Mont Blanc pack, children's climbing backpacks

Concept Pro Shop


Rent the best equipment and benefit from good advice from the staff at Concept Pro Shop, a store located just behind the Aiguille du Midi cable car. You can rent: mountaineering boots, crampons, ice axes, harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes.
