Winter Lift Opening Dates

Chamonix’s ski season typically starts in mid December, although if the snow has arrived early and in enough volume, the lifts may open for weekends before this. All lift openings are subject to change, maintenance or bad weather! Check the live lift status on this page for up to the minute information.

Summer & Autumn Lift Opening Dates

Many of Chamonix's cable cars, gondolas and chair lifts open in summer to give hikers, mountaineers and sightseers access to the middle and high mountains. Be sure to check it on a powder day as some ski lifts will open later than usual due to avalanche bombing, you don't want to be left waiting at the bottom of Flegere when everyone else is getting fresh tracks up Brevent!
