Accessed via two cable cars, the Aiguille du Midi stands at an impressive height of 3842m. It has several viewing platforms that offer breath-taking views of Mont Blanc, the Mont Blanc Massif and over the Chamonix Valley. The site is the start of the famous 20km off-piste glacier run the Vallee Blanche which is accessed by the arête and houses the Espace Vertical, an exhibition on Alpinism and Mont Blanc. You'll also find 'Step into the Void' a glass box were you'll have uninterrupted views around you as well as below you! Climb 1000 metres aboard the Montenvers train as it winds its way along the valley to the Mer de Glace glacier (1913m). One you can arrive you can take in the stunning panorama which has bought people to the Chamonix Valley for years. This site also holds a number of different attractions. The Ice Caves, which are accessed via a cable car and a staircase, allow you to walk under the glacier and view various ice sculpture. The Glaciorium which offers information on the formation of the Mer de Glace, its history, its future and the effects of climate change. Finally there is also the Terminal Neige Refuge where you can enjoy a delicious meal or a refreshing drink before returning to Chamonix. Opening Dates & Times.

This mountain train offers a spectacular journey from Le Fayet and Saint Gervais all the way to the Nid d'Aigle (eagle's nest) at 2380m. As you wind your way through the mountains, you will be able to see a unique view of the Aiguilles de Chamonix and the Dômes de Miage. From the Nid d'Aigle, which is also the start of one of the mountaineering routes to Mont Blanc, you can take in the Bionnassay Glacier and the stunning surrounding landscapes. This viewpoint also includes a refuge where you can enjoy a drink or snack before returning back down the mountain.
