About Vallée d'Aulps

The Vallée d'Aulps comprises nine villages - La Vernaz, La Forclaz, La Baume, Le Biot, Seytroux, Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, Essert-Romand, La Côte d'Arbroz and Montriond, each with its own distinctive heritage, architecture and qualities. The Valley boasts the charm of traditional mid-mountain villages along with its immediate proximity to the Portes du Soleil ski area and internationally renowned resorts.

The Vallée d'Aulps is located in the heart of Chablais region, extending approximately 25 km along the Dranse river between Thonon les Bains and Morzine, encompassing 9 villages offering breathtaking mountain landscapes. Wild and well-maintained, it is home to lots of natural gems. The different villages and their surroundings are perfect for exploring on skis, by bike, on foot, on horseback, by paraglider or with a fishing rod in hand.

The Roc d'Enfer ski area is made up of the ski resorts of La Grande-Terche located in the commune of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps and La Chèvrerie in Bellevaux, a family ski resort with stunning landscapes. UNESCO has labeled the area a Global Geopark. This ski area offers 32 runs to suit all levels, 51 km in the heart of nature. Although it is not directly connected, the Roc d’Enfer is part of the Portes du Soleil.

The village of Montriond is the gateway to the well-known Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in the world with 600 km of slopes and 12 Franco-Swiss resorts.

The Vallée d'Aulps is a vast playground for young and old, summer and winter, with mountaineering, laser biathlon, igloo construction, ice diving, bubble football, mountain biking, via ferrata, numerous hikes and much more! It also has unmissable, popular tourist destinations such as the Gorges du Pont du Diable, the Graydon mountain pasture, the Aulps abbey, the goat village at Les Lindarets, the Ardent waterfall and the magnificent Montriond lake.
