The ski domain of les Houches extends from an altitude of 1,000m to 1,860m and from the summit you have spectacular 360° views of Mont-Blanc and its nearby summits. The area will suit all abilities especially beginners and intermediates with its meandering pistes through the forests. The more advanced can sample some of the best powder tree skiing in the Chamonix Valley.
Les Houches is also very proud of its privately owned mountain restaurants and refuge huts. They are nearly all family run so there is excellent variety and as well as serving superb food and wine they all all have individual charm.
Les Houches also boasts the World Cup downhill run Le Kandahar on the area's only black run "La Verte".

The atmosphere in Les Houches is far more relaxed than Chamonix town and more suited to families, but there are still a few bars to keep the après ski affectionate happy.
The village is spread out along the main street in clusters around the town hall & church, the Bellevue lift and the Prarion lift. Each has several traditional bars and restaurants, with the most modern and lively at either end - le Delice and the Hotel Slalom. For more lively nightlife, it's best to head into Chamonix itself.
Thanks to the marvel of the internet you can now see conditions in the resort yourself using the webcam below.
